Watch the story unfold: Timeline auto-play

Once your entities carry dates, the Timeline view lays them out in order, and auto-play walks through them one beat at a time. It’s the difference between showing someone a finished map and telling them a story.

How it works

Switch to the Timeline view and press play. String Theory advances through your dated events in sequence, so the sequence of what-happened-when reveals itself instead of arriving all at once.

Tips

  • Dates are the fuel. Only entities with a date land on the timeline. If something isn’t showing up, check that it has one.
  • Use it to present, not just to plan. Auto-play is built for the moment you’re walking a class, an audience, or a table of players through events in order.
  • Pair it with a skin. A somber palette under a true-crime timeline, a warmer one under a campaign history. The mood carries the sequence.

The timeline reads the same data as your board. Fix a date once and it’s corrected everywhere.
